Richard J. Edmonds Sr.

Richard John Edmonds Sr, 80, of Loves Park, IL 61111 passed away on August 6, 2021. Richard was born in Freeport, Illinois on October 20, 1940 to John and Frances (Leibert) Edmonds. Richard married the love of his life, Mary Bahling on May 6, 1967. He worked at Barber Colman for 32 years before retiring. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, puzzles, playing cards, feeding squirrels, birds, and bunnies, and visiting with friends. There was nothing he loved more than his family though.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Edmonds; children, Richard (Chris) Edmonds, Tammy (David) Dobratz, and Mark Edmonds; grandchildren, Kendra and Konnor Dobratz; siblings, Robert (Jane) Edmonds and Dorothy (David) Oakes; in-laws, John (Sandy) Bahling and Betty (David) Thom; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Todhunter; brother-in-law Kenny Todhunter.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 10am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11am at Advantage Funeral Home (7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
