Joseph M Vance

Joseph "Joey" M. Vance, 38, of Rockford, passed away, Sunday, May 13th 2018 in Atlanta, GA after a short illness. Joey was born in Rockford, IL on June 26, 1979. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1998. Later, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he worked for the V.E.O., "Veterans Empowerment Organization" as a computer tech. He assisted veterans in getting their benefits. After Joe's passing, the VEO dedicated a center in his name, which is now called the Joseph Vance Memorial Security Center. Joe enjoyed building and fixing electronics. He collected all kinds of dolphins. Joe loved roller coasters, and loved going to Six Flags with his father.

Joe is survived by his father, Wade (Sandra) Vance; two brothers, William and Dennis Vance. Preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" (Girard) Vance.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27th at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State Street, Rockford. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Advantage Funeral home. Burial following in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Cremation Rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
