Eula N. Stonecipher, 92, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born January 11, 1932, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to George and Lucille Stam. Eula attended high school in Canehill, Arkansas. On February 6, 1953, Eula married the love of her life Lester E. Stonecipher in Rockford, Illinois.
Eula loved to tell a good story, and loved a good party. She was truly the matriarch of her family, and loved being around her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. For her case, the more the merrier.
She is survived by her eight children, Ruby Stonecipher, Charlie Stonecipher, Joann Race, Janet Leon, Richard (Kathy) Stonecipher, Penny Stonecipher, Edward (June) Stonecipher, and Sandra Coggins; 19 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Danforth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Stonecipher; parents, George and Lucille Stam; grandchildren, Stephanie Stonecipher, Jase Bull, and Abbi MacGregor; siblings, Ruth Heydon, Jack Stam, Bill Stam, Meryl Stam, Eloise Neshiem, and Carolyn Stam.
A visitation for Eula will take place Friday, October 18, 2024, at 9:00 AM, with her funeral to follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place in Willwood Burial Park.
