Eldon Frank Leuellen, age 77, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Frank was born in Rockford, Illinois on December 14, 1946 to William and Helen Leuellen. On October 28, 1967 Frank married the love of his life, Sylvia Kramer. They spent 56 beautiful years together. Frank proudly served in the Air Force for 4 years, which eventually landed him a job working at Hamilton Sundstrand Aviation (United Technologies) as an overhaul repair mechanic. He loved watching football and cussing at his team the Chicago Bears, he also loved watching and listening to the Chicago Cubs. He loved being outdoors and he loved fishing. If it was a nice sunny day you could bet he would be outside with his shirt off. Frank was also a long time member of the late Baltic Lodge, a swedish club in Rockford, he also joined the Polish Falcons Club in Rockford until they closed. He was an active member of the American Legion.
Frank is survived by his wife, Sylvia Leuellen; children, Melissa Krause, Dawn (Erik) Leuellen-Howle, Frank (Tina) Leuellen; grandchildren, Andrew Willoughby, Craig Willoughby, Brett Willoughby, and Tanner Leuellen; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Pat (the late John) Price and Ricky Leuellen; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Leuellen and Helen Ketchum; siblings, Ronald Leuellen, Glenna Bergman.
A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 9am until the time of military honors at 10:45am at Advantage Funeral Home (7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102). Following the
service, the family invites you to join them for fellowship at the Leuellen household located at 13401 Trask Bridge Rd. Durand, IL. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
