Our beloved matriarch entered peacefully into her eternal rest on May7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family to be reunited in heaven with her husband, Dr, Frank C. Petote; two children, Carol and John Petote; her brother, Daniel Tasciotti; her parents, Ida and Samuel Tasciotti and her in-laws, Angeline and Frank Petote, as well as many relatives and friends who also predeceased her.
Rosemary is survived by her loving family, children Mary Frances (Mark) LaRose; Frank Petote; Barbara (Richard) Bozza; Robert Petote; Tom (Lisa) Petote; and Karen Petote; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Petote; her siblings, Louis Tasciotti and sisters Patricia (Bob) Castiglione and Joann (Jerry) Caschette; her sister-in-law, Jane Tasciotti; her grandchildren: Kathan (Nathaniel) Levin, Mark LaRose, Jennifer and Matthew (Jeanine) Petote, Ricky, Angela and Giuliana Bozza, Alexis Vito, Jessica (Kris) Kayes and Vanessa Petote; and her great-grandchildren, Evan and Brianna Petote and Vivian and Audrie Kayes, as well as her dear nieces and nephews.
After losing her husband at a young age, Rosemary began a 37 year career at School of the Holy Childhood while still raising her family where she managed the main office for most of her tenure and eventually worked in the agency’s Special Touch Bakery, training and mentoring those in the adult program to bake a variety of pies for distribution. She derived much joy from her years at Holy Childhood, choosing to retire late in life and to remain in service because of the love she felt for those she worked with and for.
Rosemary was a faith-filled woman, always demonstrating her Christian values in the way she lived. She lovingly raised her family and provided a wonderful home, and a lifetime of beautiful memories of countless Sunday gatherings, summers on the lake, and holiday dinners. She cherished the simple joys of life and being in the presence of those she most loved; but never hesitated to welcome others to her table. She was patient and kind, quick to laugh, slow to anger and never succumbed to the temptation of a grudge, but rather, understood the good in people and the value of forgiveness. When met with even the greatest of sorrows, she bore her burdens without complaint. She has finished the race; she has kept the faith; she has fought the good fight.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Rd. Rochester, NY 14606. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the School of the Holy Childhood.
