Mary Lou Sprankle

She will be missed by her six children: James (Shirley), Bonnie, Mary (Scott), Donald, Donna (Mark), Jeanne (Scott), Brother Austin (Lois), Sister Nancie (Kristine). 13 grandchildren, Dawn, Tracy (Keith), Lynn (DF), Jill, Taryn, Adam (Christy), Tiffany (TJ), Chad (Cindy), Keith (Bridget), Chloe, Shannon, Steven and Samantha, 12 great-grandchildren, Matthew (Megan), Baylee (Ryan), Deidra, Dominic, Jonas, Owen, Cade, Paige, Rhian, Lana, Etho, Theo and 1 great-great-grandchild, Lennox. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, her number 7 (Wendy) and 8 (Donna), many friends and her faithful dog, Missy.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, of 66 years; sister, Patricia, parents, Austin and Mary Ann, and son-in-law, David, nephews Johnny, David, and numerous close friends.

Mary Lou made friends wherever she lived or worked and she loved to make them laugh using her quick-witted sense of humor. Her biggest accomplishments were her family and friendships, which she cherished, especially with her best friend, Joan. Her home always had an open door, laughs and lots of candy. Mary Lou loved to read mysteries, solving them half way through. She was a creative artist; if she saw a crack in the wall, she painted a beautiful tree.

She was born and lived in Niagara Falls, NY, where she met her husband, Donald and raised their family along with great neighborhood friends. Years later, they moved to Hagerstown, Maryland, and then settled in East Rochester, New York. After retiring Mary Lou and Donald moved to Florida where enjoyed many sun-filled years, forming lasting friendships.

They returned to New York in 2017 to be near their family. Residing at the Legacy and Northfield where she made wonderful friends whom she loved dearly. She moved to Aaron Manor due to health issues and was cared for and loved by her amazing caregivers. She truly loved you all, especially Moe and Kimberly. Her family would like to thank all the amazing people in her life who loved their Mom, laughed with her, and brought her flowers, cookies, hugs and kisses. She will shine down on you as she dances with her beloved Donald from up above.

There will be no calling hours; family will hold a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, show an act of kindness to a caregiver in your life. In memory of Mary Lou make someone laugh today!
