The family would like to thank the staff at Unity Living Center (St. Mary’s Campus) for their care over the past seven years.
Josephine was dedicated to taking care of her family, including her younger siblings when they were all growing up. At age 5, she saved her 3-year-old brother, Joseph, as she guided him to safety when their family home went up in a blaze. She was a devoted mother to her five children and a devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren, some of whom lived with her at various times in their lives. She would also live to enjoy ten great-grandchildren.
Her home was always a welcoming place where you could enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of homemade pie. For years, she prepared delicious home cooked meals for her family for birthdays and holidays, or even if you just dropped in for a visit. After the passing of her beloved husband, Harrison, in 1980, at the age of 62, she would spend time visiting and traveling with her grown children and grandchildren, attending many of their special events.
Besides her husband, Harrison Sine, Sr., she was predeceased by her oldest son, Harrison, Jr.; her daughter, Virginia Paul; granddaughter, Lisa Sine; daughter-in-law, Elaine Sine; son-in-law, Lawrence Mulhern. She also outlived all of her siblings, Joseph, Robert, Frank, Adeline, and Madeline and their spouses.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Mulhern; sons, Thomas and Richard (Patricia) Sine; stepbrother, Joe Clovis; her grandchildren, Tina, Todd, Thomas Jr., Cindy, Janelle, Terry, Kimberly, and Yvonne. Ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Rd, Rochester, NY 14606. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
