Daniel was born in Nunda, NY to William and Freida Losey. Daniel dedicated his life to serving others. He proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam. He worked at Kodak, retiring after more than 30 years of service. After retirement he held multiple part time jobs. He worked hard throughout his life so that he could provide for his family. His family was truly his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Dan was a big man with tough exterior, but inside he had a heart of gold and was loyal until the end. His love and his laughter will be forever missed.
Daniel is survived by Christine, his loving wife of 42 years; two sons: Robert (Lori) Stewart-Oechsle, Richard (Christine Bartolone) Stewart, and one daughter: Katrina (Andrew) Ott; granddaughter, Rachel Stewart. Surviving siblings include: William Losey Jr., Lucille Horton, Gloria Austin, Richard Losey, Harold “Jake” Eichman, Kenneth Losey and his beloved furry companion Daisy Mae.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Losey Sr. and Freida Norma Pratt, also Alice Babcock Losey, and brothers: Edward Feliciano, George Wyant, Ricky Losey, and Robert Losey.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, May 10th, from 4-7p.m., at the Funeral Home of ALVAH HALLORAN & SON, 2125 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624. A celebration of his life will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11th, at 11:00a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Dan’s memory to Quilts of Valor, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20, or to the Verona Street Animal Society.
