Richard Van De Velde

Richard A. (Dick) Van De Velde, born June 6, 1934, passed away at his home in Bloomfield Hills, MI on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Marcella Van De Velde and his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly (Krausmann) Van De Velde. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Vincent) Scott Van De Velde, his sons David Van De Velde, Paul (Robin) Van De Velde, Mark (Andrea) Van De Velde, daughter Jill (Ryan) Purman and his seven grandchildren; Jennifer, Catherine, Nicole, Michael, Jordon, Ciara and Clayton.

He will be remembered as a loving and supportive father, amazing husband, adventurous Papa, avid golfer, and a generous and caring man. He was a popular and gregarious man. He will always be remembered as the man with the biggest smile and the largest heart in the room.

Before retiring he was President of R.A. Van De Velde and Associates. Being an avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Pine Lake Country Club in West Bloomfield Twp., MI and The Club Pelican Bay in Naples, FL. He loved to spend most of his time on the golf course with his family and friends.

Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr., Rochester, MI. Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church (Chapel), 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 AM at the church.
