Raymond Elliot Lucas, 79, of Rochester Michigan, passed away on October 15, 2021. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 2, 1942, son of the late Robert and Norma (Schultz) Lucas. Raymond had a career as an American History and Government teacher at Lamphere High School in Madison Heights. In retirement he followed his interests in history, genealogy and archeology with the Troy Historical Museum, the Auburn Hills Historical Society, the Oakland County Pioneer Historical Society, and the Sons of the American Revolution. He was an active member of Gloria Dei and then Abiding Presence Lutheran Churches. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wives Helene (Lustig) in 1975 and Barbara (Christofferson) in 2010. He is survived by his son, Russell Lucas (Camelia); his daughter, Joy Lucas (Chris); and grandchildren Aman (Chris) Dickel and Robert Lucas. Also survived by his brothers: Milton, Keith, and Charles (Theresa) Lucas. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 20 at noon at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 1550 Walton Blvd, Rochester Hills, MI 48309.
