Beloved wife of Bill Hammond for 56 years; loving mother of William Hammond Jr. (Anne), Diane (Kevin) Bengston, and Susan (Kirk) Conley; caring grandmother of 9 grandchildren; sister of Barbara (Don) Mourand. Patti was predeceased by her parents Theodore and Katherine (Rhodes) Lauckner, and brother Jim Lauckner.
Patti was born in Flint, Michigan on May 26, 1938. She attended Redeemer Lutheran Grade School and was confirmed in 1952. She graduated from Flint Technical High School in 1956 and the Flint Hurley Nursing Program as a Registered Nurse in 1960. Patti married William Hammond on May 26, 1962 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Flint, Michigan. She raised her family first in Grand Blanc and then Rochester.
Patti worked for Flint Hurley Hospital and then in private practice in Rochester for Dr. Johnson and Dr. Compton. She also worked as an American Red Cross blood drive donor nurse for 13 years. Patti retired in 2002.
Patti loved to bake. She decorated cakes and gave them as wedding gifts. Patti shared her talent as a seamstress, giving away the draperies and clothes that she sewed. She also made her daughter's wedding gown. She loved to play bridge and make quilts and did so with clubs in Rochester and Florida.
Patti’s family will welcome all to a memorial gathering on Friday June 29, 2018 from 10am until the time of memorial service at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church, located at 1011 West University Drive in Rochester, Michigan.
