Margaret Geisz

Margaret was of German heritage and was born in Biled, Romania, a tranquil village, on November 1, 1924. She was married to Johann M. Geisz on June 6, 1945. He passed away in 2001.

Margaret is survived by her two sons and their wives, Johann Geisz (Karen) and Nikolaus Geisz (Susan). Her four grandchildren are Heather Ettinger (Christopher), Laura Klinck (Don), Jason Geisz (Brooke) and Jeffrey Geisz (Laura). She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren Leah, Sydney, Evan, Marja, Julia, Burke, Parker, Claire, Dan and Jake.

Margaret immigrated to the USA in 1951 after WWII on the USS Stewart, a freedom ship of European refugees. She lived in the Detroit Metro area ever since.

Margaret had a career in sales at a ladies fashion shop in Detroit and was a professional seamstress. Her passion was all things involving needlepoint crafts, such as knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, patchwork quilts and others. She provided many a knitted blanket or scarf to her family, the church or those in need like the pregnancy crisis center. Always giving to those with her God given talent.

Margaret's faith was very important to her as she read her bible daily and prayed for family continuously. She had a full life and after her early years of growing up in a war-torn area, staying in a quiet home and enjoying her family was all she needed. Her kind and gentle mannerisms were apparent to all that knew her. She will be missed by many.

Margaret's family will welcome all to a visitation on Wednesday October 19th, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 20th, 2022 at 11 a.m. (Instate 10 a.m.) at Bethesda Christian Church, located at 14000 Metro Parkway in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
