M. Elaine Thompson

Elaine was born the daughter of James and Edith Pope on November 27, 1933 in Lockport, New York. She graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School in Pennsylvania. She married Robert John Ferzacca and moved to Michigan. She raised her family in Shelby Township. Elaine became a widow when her husband passed in 1966. She married and later divorced Amos Thompson. Elaine had a career as a secretary at Rochester Manufacturing for over 20 years, retiring in 1998.

Elaine loved playing sports in her younger years and watching her children and grandchildren’s sports as they grew up. She enjoyed dancing, reading, crossword puzzles and watching the Detroit Tigers.

Elaine is survived by her children Chris Richardson, Shari (Tim) Romanow, and Mark (Audra) Thompson; grandchildren Michael (Kristal) Thompson, Tanya Richardson, Jenni (Chris) Harris, Laura (Justin) Trawick, Kimberly (Barrett) Guthrie, Katie Thompson, and Nick Thompson; and eleven great-grandchildren. Elaine was predeceased by her parents; her daughter Lisa Thompson; and her brother Bud Pope.

Elaine’s family will receive friends and family at a visitation on Saturday March 5, 2022 from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. Burial will be private at Christian Memorial Cemetery.
