SCHNEIDER, Lowell C., age 85, of Rochester Hills, ran into the loving arms of his Savior on Sunday, October 12, 2014, after a brief illness. Lowell was the only son of Milton and T. Jane Schneider of Cosby, Mo. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he graduated from the General Motors Institute (now called Kettering University) in 1956. Lowell was a Pontiac engineer for nearly 40 years. In 1956, he married Lois Bowman of Blissfield, Mich., who preceded him in death 17 years ago. Today, their legacy includes three children: Lyndon (Robbie), Leslie (Braden) and Loren; five grandchildren: Megan, Emily, Jordan, Abby and Olivia; and five great-grandchildren. Lowell loved building things, including homes, trailers and – most recently – a grandfather clock, restoring things, like old cars and bulldozers, and collecting things, like record albums and tools. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Rochester for more than 50 years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 14, from 6-9 p.m, at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. University Drive, in downtown Rochester, and then again at St. Paul’s, 620 Romeo Street, Rochester, from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15. His funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
