Kenneth Patrick Garwood Sr. passed away on Tuesday, October 8th at McClaren Oakland. Born on December 19th, 1942 to Stanley and Bernice Garwood. Ken was the second oldest of twelve children. As a child, Kenneth attended Our Lady of Refuge Parish School. While still in school he met the love of his life, Marilyn (Johnson) Garwood, who he would marry on June 15th 1963 and have four beautiful children Susan (William) Jennings, Kenneth Garwood Jr., Lisa (Rod) Deering, and Angela (Russ Brandel) LaFleche. He was the proud grandpa of Foster, Garrett, Kylie (Denny), Alli (David), Austin, Nicole (Cory), Lauren (Nic), Vanessa, Leah, and Andrew. He was also blessed with five great grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Kaydenz, Eloise, Duke, Alarik, and Atlas.
Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors and traveling, especially up to the UP with his lifetime friend and chosen family, Rick (Mary) Walker, woodworking in his pole barn, and collecting various knickknacks such as model cars, rocks, and other novelties. He enjoyed word puzzles, feeding his beloved backyard birds, and spending time at his boat in Caseville, MI.
He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Lisa (Rod) Deering, grandson Garrett Garwood, brothers Dennis and Giles Garwood, and parents, Stanley and Bernice Garwood.
Kenneth's family will welcome all to a visitation on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 am at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester Michigan. Interment will be at 2pm the same day at Christian Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 521 East Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
