Eric Allen Cracium

Eric Allen Cracium, of Rochester Hills, MI passed away on December 17, 2024 at the age of 53. Eric was born in Rochester, MI on November 25, 1971 to his parents Roberta and John O. Cracium. After graduating from Rochester High School, Eric would commit himself to becoming a Licensed Builder. With passion and pride in completing each job with the utmost know-how, his abilities allowed him to build his own business, Eric Allen Woodworks and Construction. He knew everything there was to know about construction and could handle every project from his copious side projects to foundations holding up family homes. He was a dedicated worker, and when it came time to step away from construction, he joined the team at the Detroit Medical Center. He worked there for 17 years, with most of that time as a Financial Specialist in the Supply Chain Department. He and his beloved wife, Cynthia (nee Adams) Cracium, were wed on May 4, 2002, and their family was completed with the birth of their cherished son Colin. Eric loved spending time with his son and was a cub scout leader for many years, a soccer coach, and a proud spectator at all of Colin’s activities. No matter what the occasion, he was always there to support his son, and most recently he joined Colin on a father/son trip out west to Yosemite National Park. At home, Eric was not only handy inside the house but also in the garage. He was very mechanically minded and enjoyed working on his motorcycle and dune buggy and taking them out for rides as much as he could. He was a fixer in many ways, and whenever something would break, his family’s first call would always go to him. Eric enjoyed spending time with his friends and had countless treasured friendships throughout the years, many with bonds beginning at a young age. His ability to become friends with anyone was a testament to the love he carried in his heart every day. He also loved bowling and for many years, he and his wife participated in a bowling league with their beloved friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, as a child he was an Indian Guide and as an adult he loved camping with his family, extended family and his many cherished friends in “Our Camping Club”. Eric was a proud man of Faith, as a member of St. Irenaeus church he dedicated himself to the ideals that Christ taught. His big heart led him to generously give both his time and his money. When there was someone in need in his community, he was always willing to step up and help. His family recounts that for many years on New Years Day, he would help disperse Meals-On-Wheels to those who needed them, hoping to start off their year with kindness. His kindness did not stop at humans. He loved and cared dearly for many pets over the years, and the Cracium household always had pets both big and small. Most recently with his beloved dog Hailey, he would take her on walks every day without fail, and cared for her so dearly as she aged. Although all who knew him will miss his physical presence in their lives, they know his spirit lives on and will watch over them always.

Eric is survived by his wife Cynthia Cracium; his son Colin Cracium; his siblings John R. Cracium and Kelly Cracium; parents John O. Cracium and Roberta Cracium; mother-in-law Sandra Adams; brother-in-law Kenneth J. Adams Jr.; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.

A visitation for Eric will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307 with a scripture service taking place at 6:00 PM. A Mass will be held on Monday, December 23, at 11:00 AM at St Irenaeus Catholic Church, 771 Old Perch Rd, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309, family will begin accepting guests at 10:30 AM until time of service.
