Chris was a dear friend of mine. I remember singing to songs at The Oakland Press, while working. He made life and work so enjoyable. I miss him so much.

Chris was a kind soul. I used to help him on the computer, teaching him graphics and marketing.

He would listen to you for hours, giving you solid advise on career moves.

We worked together as co-workers at the Oakland Press. He was very likable and filled with joy everyday.

I just heard of his passing and will miss him terribly, we were very good friends.

I recall meeting Chris at MSU when he would visit Paul (Chico) and thought very well of him.  He had a great personality and I truly enjoyed talking with him.  Paul always said that Chris should be a Major League Baseball umpire for his love of the game.  Godspeed to the Nestro family.

Chris was always such a great kid, we grew up across the street from each other and we were constantly outside playing every sport imaginable and even making up new games !!  We would run across each other many times later in life and he always had that infectious smile and outgoing personality. My whole family and other Brookedale Woods friends sends their prayers to the Nestro family. God Bless

My sincerest condolences to the Nestro family. I guess my best memory is Chris, Paul and I making a trip down from Cincinnati, attending a Grateful Dead concert outside Louisville and having a great time. Afterwards trying to set up our camp site down the road, desperately attempting to pitch the tent in the dark, swimming in the lake in the middle of night and getting our meal together on the grill was priceless. Chris will surely be missed, he was a real good guy.

It has been a long time since I last saw Chris. I always asked Paul how he was doing and he kept me updated. One lasting memory of him was when he, Paul, Randy Whitmer and myself went to play basketball at a health club.  Chris didn’t bring basketball shoes. In fact, all he had were the hiking boots he wore in. But he was unfazed and we dominated the 4 on 4 game. The vision of him on a full-court fast break in untied hiking boots is forever etched in my memory. 

To his family and loved ones, my deepest condolences.

My heart weeps as I continue to pray for your comfort daily. Words cannot describe how saddened I am for your/our loss as all of you  had always been family to me for as long as I can remember. You were always there for me or anybody for that matter anytime you were needed. One memory I will never forget eventhough it was 35-40 years ago. Was when I flipped over my handlebars and walked to your house carrying my  mangled bike seeking help, without hesitation you all jumped into action. Chris laughed each time he poured rubbing alcohol down my back as I cringed in pain (as any big brother would do). After cleaning me up you called my parents, loaded my bike in your car and brought me home. Chris will be deeply missed by many.

He will be treasured in our memories and we are grateful for having seen him just three short years ago. Find strength and comfort in beautiful memories shared and in knowing that he is at peace. I am so sorry for your loss.  I met Chris in middle school and remember how much fun we had in class, summer vacations and even a bus trip to MSU to visit Paul in college.  I remember what a great family the Nestro's are.  Chris had a New York heart and loved all NY sports.  If there was anyone who could talk sports, it was Chris.  He was a good guy and I was lucky to be his friend.  So many good memories.

You will be missed Chris.  Rest in peace brother.

Hi Nestro family, 

 This is sure an odd new tradition to leave an online message but I will give it a try.  I did not know Chris well but I have known him for many years and still have a lot of memories of him.  I always enjoyed seeing and talking to Chris  and I am saddened by  his passing. I know he had a great family and I am sorry for your loss.
