Before moving to Rochester Hills in 2021, to be closer to his daughters, Kara and Michelle, and their families, he resided in the Whispering Pines Community in Pinckney, Michigan, for over 20 years.
Brian was an avid golfer, music lover, and epicurean. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends. Brian was an exceptional chef and enjoyed gathering with those he loved to showcase his exceptional culinary skills. His thoughtful and empathetic spirit led him to be generous and forgiving with family and friends. He was an observer and listener, making him a great storyteller. He always had kind and encouraging words to lift others.
Brian, a twin, was born in Dearborn, Michigan, on December 13, 1954.
His parents, who preceded him in death, were Charles Lawrence Sanders, a Pipe Fitter, and Elizabeth Nancy Mantey Sanders, a School Teacher. Brian graduated from Dearborn High School in 1973 and went to Henry Ford Community College, graduating in 1976 with a degree in Automotive Sciences. Upon graduation, he was hired by American Motors Corporation (Chrysler Corporation/Daimler-Chrysler/FCA). He spent most of his career as a Powertrain Engineer for Jeep in Detroit and at the Chelsea Proving Grounds. Brian retired after 31 years in 2008.
Brian is survived by his daughters Kara Foutz (Mike), Michelle Awesome (Michael), and grandchildren Elizabeth Foutz, Beatrix Down, and Alexander Ball.
Brian leaves one surviving brother, Bruce (Karen), of Odenton, Maryland. His other two brothers, David and Steve, preceded him in death. He leaves devoted cousins Joseph (Kendra) Mantey of Farmington Hills, Michigan; Kathy (Tom) Fry of Apopka, Florida; Dan (Lois) Sanders of Dickson, Tennessee, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial gathering will be from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m., at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr, Rochester, MI 48307.
