He was the middle of seven children, born in Los Angeles and reared in West Garden Grove. Tommy forged his own identity through hard work and adventure. Although he built and managed a thriving aerospace engineering and manufacturing company, his true passion was the outdoors, making his home in the San Bernardino Mountains for most of his adult life.
His three children and granddaughter were his greatest pride, and he loved them fiercely. Tommy cherished being a role model and nurturer. It brought him endless joy to share his passion for travel, history, design and vintage cars. He deeply appreciated the comradery and friendship he found in the skydiving community, in which he was active for 40 years, and became a USPA Master Skydiver and Performance jumper.
Tommy believed that life was an adventure and encouraged his children and everyone around him to live their dreams.
Tommy is preceded in death by his brother, Jacob Martinez. He is survived by his beloved children, Brittany Jesson, Tarin Martinez, and Jacob Martinez; his granddaughter, Penelope Jesson; his parents Isabella Rodella and Laurence Martinez; his sisters, Laurie Ostrow, Cindy Chan, Tina Martinez, Jane Martinez and Mimi Hopkins. There will be a celebration of life held at Skydive Perris, 2091 Goetz Road, Perris, CA 92570 on July 30, 2022 at 5:00 pm.
