Dearest Martha, 

It was a beautiful service. A celebration of life. I know Leo was smiling down from heaven. I couldn’t be there in person but, I was there in heart and spirit.  My prayers are with you.

Tio Leo was a man that genuinely loved people. He knew how to put a smile on peoples faces with his actions of caring, from a simple joke to a word of encouragement at the right time. He loved helping others without asking for anything back. He was and still is a true inspiration to many people from family to friends. He will be missed for who he genuinely was. We are left with the seeds he passed on to all of us that had the privilege to learn from him. We love you Tio Leo, until you welcome me again you will be missed.

You were one of the most generous souls I have ever met.  And your love for family, for music, for food and for life brought smiles to me and everyone I know.  You were also always an encouraging uncle, a cheerleader in the best sense. I’ll never forget the day that you took off to take me shopping before I left for college because you wanted to make sure I had everything I needed.  That was always the kind of uncle you were.  You will be deeply missed. 

Polo you are in Gods kingdom, may you Rest In Peace…You have left many beautiful memories .. I will always remember you….

For those who never met you or got to know you the way I did; I must say you were an amazing man who loved beyond what words could describe. You were a humble gentle soul who would give your shirt off your back to anyone who needed it.  However,  you were also a fun and adventurous man....Mr. Lopez !! And yes that I must share!!

A fun and memorable moment I shared with you was the time we went to La Plaza Guadalajara.  The twins decided that it would be funny to go all the way to the roof top of the plaza and ring the bell. The twins got to ring the bell multiple times and so you decided it would be a good idea to join them. You climbed all the way to the roof top and upon your arrival you looked down at us and waived; apparently you pretended to be the Mexican president. Once you were done waving at us from the top you decided to ring the bell and....oh no!! Security arrived and pointed at you to get down. We all pretended not to know you, as the security pled with us to get you down. This would be one of many fun and memorable experiences with you!!

I am just so greatful to have had such an amazing father in law!! I will treasure all those great memories in my heart!! I love you Polito!!

You always could bring a smile to our faces and family was always number one in your book. We're going to miss you Chief.

     I only had the privilege of meeting Mr. Lopez once, and it just made sense that this kind and noble man would be the father of the amazing young woman my family and I have come to know and love. (I still appreciate that he--just to be nice, I'm sure--actually tried the duck curry that pretty much no one else ever wants to try whenever I order it.)
     I didn't get to interract too much with Mr. López that day because he and my husband hit it off and ended up conversing mostly with each other (once it came up that they had both attended Belmont High). That was fine with me, though, as I envisioned that once we got to meet MRS. López, the four of us would surely end up engaging in many conversations in the future. (One more reminder that life is precious and can never be taken for granted.)
     All that said, it was truly an honor and a privilege to have met you, Mr. López, and may you rest in peace, nestled near the loving heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, until, if it be His Divine will, we meet again one day.

God received two great Angels. It brings comfort to know our brother uncle Bobby walked you into Heaven's gates arm and arm. 

The best times I've learned valuable life lessons from you was within our walks and adventures hikes. I miss you waking me up at 5am to explore the wilderness with you. 

Thank you Mr. Leo for your coaching and guidance over the years and your encouragement to always give your best.  You are missed my friend.

I work with Leo for few years at Public Works, I always enjoyed interacting with him.  He was a very conscientious about his work.  I always thought he handled difficult situations at work very well.  I am sad to see Leo leave this world. To his family, my condolences, he will be missed. 

I knew and have worked with Leo for almost 10 years with Public Works, and he was truly a really nice  man and very determined to get the job done. I will never forget our moments together and will miss you very much. Heaven gained a good man and an angel.

I offer my condolences to the entire family. May he Rest in Peace and be the guiding light in all of your lives. 

La visita de mi querido Tío Polo a mi papá (su primo Juan) fue maravillosa y alegre, mi papá solo quería a mi tío a su lado. 
El día que llegó a la casa fue tanto el cariño y preocupación por mi papá que quería acompañarlo toda noche, pero el enfermero era el que cuidaba de él en aquel entonces.  Mi papá regularmente no dormía por las noches y todos los días que mi tío estuvo en casa mi papá  le gritaba como podía "Polo, Polo, veeeeen" infinidad de veces, mi tío la primer noche bajo asustado a verlo, creyendo que había pasado algo pero mi papá solo quería que estuviera ahí  con él. 
Todos los dias le hacía los ejercicios muy divertidos a mi papá, disfrutó y aprovecho al máximo estar con su primo Juan y al igual que mi madre y yo, disfrutamos mucho la visita de mi tío, fue la mejor y siempre estará en mi corazón.
Ahora los dos se disfrutan en el cielo 🤍🙌🏽

It was with great sadness that I received the news of Leo's passing.  I knew Leo as a construction inspector from our time working together at Los Angeles County Public Works.  As a geologist for  Public Works, I did not work directly or consistently with Leo but, it was always a pleasure seeing him when we crossed paths.
