On Sunday, February 26, 2023, John Soliz Thompson, a man of God, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at the age of 67. John was born on October 4, 1955 in Riverside, CA to Robert E. and Mary E. Thompson; he was the thirteenth child out of fourteen.
John lived, raised a family and worked in Riverside his entire life. He was married to Emily Stella Pacheco in 1975. John had two daughters and three sons. He was currently married to Suzanna Maria Thompson. John worked for the City of Riverside until his retirement. He enjoyed cruising his hometown with classic music and good company; he’d stop by to visit local family and friends whenever he had free time. John spent many years as the drummer in a family band; music and family were the loves of his life. He was affectionately called “Papa” by his grandchildren who knew time with Papa meant pizza time too. Everyone who knew him would agree that his sense of humor, creative and clever mind were some of his greatest qualities. John has been deemed a true legend by the younger generation who were blessed to be guided and inspired by him.
John was preceded in death by his father, mother, and nine older siblings. He is survived by his wives, his five children, Emily Thompson- Gallardo, Fidelia Thompson-Leyba, John B.
