Feyi was the eighth of nine children born in Bo, Sierra Leone. She embarked on a journey filled with vibrancy and joy from her earliest days. Her education at the esteemed Annie Walsh Memorial School in Freetown, Sierra Leone, laid the foundation for a life of achievement and service. After graduating from secondary school, her tenacious spirit of adventure and ambition led her to work at the U.S. Embassy in Sierra Leone, a stepping stone that would eventually bring her to the United States in 1971.

Her American journey began in Washington, D.C., and North Carolina, where she embraced new experiences and opportunities. However, the sunny skies of California truly captured her heart. In Los Angeles, she found a community that reflected the warmth and radiance of her spirit. Her laughter, joyful and as bright as the Californian sun, was a magnet that drew people close to her, forging lifelong friendships, particularly within the Sierra Leonean community. She possessed a remarkable gift for nurturing deep and meaningful connections, touching the lives of many.

Renowned for her wisdom and empathy, she was more than a friend; she was a trusted confidant, a source of counsel, and a beacon of support to all who knew her. Her ability to listen, offer advice, and provide a comforting shoulder to lean on was a testament to her caring nature and her profound impact on the lives of others.

Her love for life was evident in her passions – the joy of dance, a flair for fashion, and a creative, artistic eye that saw beauty in the world around her. It was in this vibrant environment that she met her beloved husband, Mr. Lloyd George Morgan, marking the start of a cherished partnership. Their journey together took them to Orange County, where she pursued further education, earning her degree in Criminal Justice and advancing her career as an Immigration Officer for the United States Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Her dedication and contributions to the organization for over two decades were a testament to her tenacity and commitment to making a meaningful difference. The family later moved to Riverside County, where she nurtured her faith and community spirit, actively participating in church and enjoying the fellowship and camaraderie that came with it.

Her personal life was a tapestry of love, joy, and deep connections. She was graced with a daughter, Agnes, who was not just her child, but the light of her life. Their bond was a testament to unconditional love, growing stronger and more beautiful with each passing day.

The joy in her life multiplied with the arrival of her cherished grandson, Adda. Born in the golden years of her life, post-retirement in 2019, Adda became the centerpiece of her world. Their relationship was one of profound depth and affection, a true embodiment of a grandmother's love. She took great pride in sharing the riches of her life experiences with Adda, imparting her faith, culture, and the wisdom she had garnered over the years. These moments, filled with laughter, stories, and learning, have woven a tapestry of memories that will be cherished and celebrated for generations to come.

She left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. A firm believer in God, her faith was solid and unwavering, a guiding light and the true north of her life. She often said, "There is a God, and it is a journey we are all on." We celebrate her journey well-traveled, filled with a legacy of joy, friendship, love, laughter, service, faith, and the enduring power of a kind and generous spirit. May her soul rest in perfect peace, leaving us with memories as bright and warm as the sunny California she so dearly loved.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Mr. Lloyd George Morgan, daughter Agnes Morgan, and Adda Allan; seven siblings, John Simbo, Christiana Laing, Eleanor George, Eunice George, Eretimy George, Ekundayo George, and Millicent Sumner. The Thompson Shaw family, Hume Dawson family, Dingy family and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom are a testament to her life’s joy and love. She will be greatly missed.
