Geraldine Hauser, of Riverside, California, went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2020 (Passover). She was just three days away from celebrating her 85th birthday (Easter Sunday). Geri passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at home in the loving care of her daughter, Karen.
Geri was born in Normal, Illinois, April 12, 1935 to Gerald Lucien and Tessa Elaine Abell. She graduated from Tremont Community High School in 1953. She then met Harley Edward Hauser and they were married in Hopedale on January 24, 1954. After the birth of their daughters, they moved their young family cross-country, by car, in 1963 to California so Harley could attend college. The family moved to Riverside, California in 1975 where she remained in the same home until her death.

Because of her daughters involvement with pet mice and rats, Geri was one of the founding members of the American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association (AFRMA) in 1983. She was the long standing Secretary and Membership Representative and a consistent presence at the sales table at shows. She bred and showed Grand Champion show rats from 1986-2000 and she was known for her Rex coated rats.
She is survived by her two daughters; Karen (Craig) Robbins and Debra; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Genevieve (Howard) Davis; and fondly remembered by numerous friends at AFRMA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harley Edward Hauser.
Interment in be Friday, April 24, 2020 (Arbor Day) at 9:00am at Riverside National Cemetery, next to her husband. Arrangements are being handled by Acheson & Graham Mortuary, Riverside.
