He married June Marie Basile, the love of his life, in 1950. They made their home in Greenville, MS for 47 years before moving to Ridgeland, MS in 2008.
He graduated with degrees in mechanical and industrial engineering from the University of Illinois. He served as the Vice President of Chicago Mill & Lumber Co. until he purchased Broadway Linen Co. in 1970.
A devout Christian, his faith was always exemplified by his generosity and kindness to others. He served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church Greenville. After moving to Ridgeland, he was a member of The First Presbyterian Church Jackson.
He was also civic minded having been a long time member and past president of Rotary Club of Greenville and one of the founders of Community Counseling in Greenville, MS.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Deborah Hough (Milford), Diana Montgomery (Haskins), and Denise Wilson (David); his 7 grandchildren, Kris Hough, David Wilson, Heather Hunt (Chuck), Katherine Newsom (Sam), Christina Polk (Taylor), Salli Hobson (Jay), and Anna Haskins-Patton (Harry); and 10 great-grandchildren, Hadley, Sarah, Milly Haskins Hunt, Anna Basile and Hunter Newsom, Banks and Leigh Wilson Polk, Clark and Mallory Hobson, and Harry Patton, IV.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to make donations to Community Counseling of Greenville or First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, MS.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Greenville Cemetery in Greenville, MS. Services under the care and direction of Parkway Funeral Home, Ridgeland, MS.
