Her father operated a dental practice in the front of their home in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Growing up, Pat was known as a very good athlete who enjoyed tennis, swimming, and diving. She was a cheerleader and played fast-pitch softball at Lasalle-Peru High School. She won the city tennis championship in singles.
After high school, she worked in the payroll office for Marquette Cement. In 1959, Pat married her husband of fifty-four years, Rothe, of Paris, Texas. Together, they had six wonderful children and eight grandchildren. Pat and Rothe lived in several states, including 10 years in North Little Rock, before settling in Clinton, MS, in 1975. Pat enjoyed traveling across the country, competing in the Clinton tennis league and numerous golf tournaments, baking delicious desserts, volunteering at Holy Savior Catholic Church and Meals on Wheels. Whether it was football, soccer, baseball or a beauty pageant, Pat was always there to support her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted Catholic and remained active at Holy Savior Catholic Church for many years.
