Mickie Griffith Autry, born July 24, 1960, from Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1st, 2024. She was a retired Nurse Practitioner from Ovation Wellness. She shared a passion for knowledge, Tennessee Volunteer football, taking care of her patients, and spending time with her corgi, three children and grandson. She received her BSN from Jacksonville State University, MSN from University of Alabama Huntsville, and PhD from Walden University.
Her personality and laughter were contagious, and she always tried to be an honest, hardworking, loving, and fun person. Her proudest family moments were raising her three very individual, educated, and loving children. Her proudest career accomplishment was completing her PhD. She hoped that others learned the importance of life-long learning, sense of humor, and truth. Her favorite past-times and hobbies were reading and watching SEC football. She would like to be remembered as someone who speaks her truth, loved her kids, and always had fun.
Mickie was preceded in death by her father, James B. Griffith, of Knoxville, TN. She is survived by her children Jordan Capps (Wilson), Madison Autry (Ron), James Autry (Makenzie), Manning (corgi) and grandson, Easton James (Madison). She is survived by her brother, Michael Griffith (Linda), and mother, Iva Griffith.
Her celebration of life will be at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS on Saturday, June 22nd from 2-4pm CST. In lieu of flowers, Mickie requested for memorial donations made to the American Cancer Society or MANP (Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners). This will be a Celebration of Life where we will toast to her life with laughter, share stories, and drink a glass of wine in her memory.
