Martha was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 26, 1923 to Pauline and Will Woodward. She moved to Jackson, Mississippi in her teens, where she spent most of her life. She lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Brandon, Mississippi, and moved to Florence in 2004 to be closer to her children, whom she loved very much.
Martha was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church, where she participated in many activities. She was a member of the Mayflower Society of Mississippi, Welcome Neighbors Club of Jackson, Red Hat Group of Florence, Florentine Club, and Friends of the Library of Florence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Will V. Woodward; first husband, J. Leroy Ratliff, Jr.; second husband, Thomas H. Davis; and granddaughter, Gina Vaughn. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Dickerson of Brandon, Jimmy (Eva) Ratliff of Hattiesburg, and Paul (Pat) Ratliff of Florence; stepdaughter, Kathy (Darryl) Staten of Clinton; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Monday, September 30, 2019. Visitation for Martha W. Davis will be at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m.
