Mrs. Marjorie Gibson Murley

Marjorie was born December 17, 1924 in Paris, TN to Mary Kate and William Edward Gibson. In 1950 she married Thomas Buford Murley in Houston Texas and they moved to Jackson, MS the following year. They both were longtime, active members of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where Marjorie served as president of her much loved Hope and Joy Sunday School Class for many years.

Marjorie shared her gift of hospitality and enjoyed opening her home for many social events. She enjoyed cooking and sharing the fruits of her labor with her friends and family, as well as ministering to others with the gift of food. She was an active member of several bridge, luncheon, and dinner clubs and cherished her friendships in each group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Larue Thompson, and her beloved husband Tom. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Knight and her husband, Ernie, of Madison, MS and Teresa Bufkin and her husband, Jack, of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Emily Knight Koesters, Olivia Bufkin Davis and her husband Graham Davis, and Dylan Bufkin; and two great grandsons, Hayden and Hudson Koesters.

Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Visitation for family and close friends at 12:30 with open visitation at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marjorie's name to First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS.
