Jerry Lavonne (LV) Hamilton, 58 died on October 14, 2024 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be at 11:00 am and funeral services will be held immediately after at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Parkway Funeral Home located at 1161 Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, MS, 39157. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery following the funeral services.
Born in Baton Rouge, LA, Lavonne is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Donna Risher Hamilton and his son, (John) Foster Hamilton of Madison, MS and sister, Shauna Hamilton Barrier and her husband, Marc of Fort Myers, FL. LV was preceded in death by his daughter, Katelyn Sue Hamilton of Madison, MS and his parents, Judith and Jerry Hamilton of Meadville, MS.
LV will be remembered for his immense personality, humor, and devotion to family and God. He was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, MS. LV graduated from Franklin County High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he made lifelong friends. He earned his degree from USM and then later served in the US Army National Guard.
LV was a business owner in the Jackson, MS area and actively involved in The Rotary Club of Madison. He loved outdoor activities such as hunting, attending the Men’s Adventure Group Bible Study, and singing in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Choir. He was also a dedicated blood and platelets donor with over 132 donations.
