Evelyn Kay (Roberts) Parker passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi from complications of Crohn's Disease. Kay fought this battle so courageously for many years. The funeral service for Mrs. Parker will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Madison, Mississippi on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 1:00pm with visitation starting at 11:00am. She will be buried at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Mississippi.
Kay was born September 2, 1952. She will forever be remembered by the love of her life and husband, Mickey Parker of Madison, Mississippi. They were childhood sweethearts and best friends and were married for 42 years. Kay leaves two beautiful daughters who she was so proud of, Mandy (Irvin) Ellard, Madison and Kristen (David) Russell, Madison, Mississippi and two granddaughters who were just so very special to Kay always wanting to be with them and now she will as their special angel. They are Emma Kay Ellard and Anna Grace Ellard of Madison, Mississippi.
Other survivors include two brothers, Edward (Barbara) Roberts of New Jersey and Duane Roberts of Jackson, Mississippi. Her mother-in-law, Katherine Parker was described by Kay as the best mother-in-law anyone could ever have. Kay also leaves behind many brothers and sisters-in-law along with cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kay's family want to thank Mickey and Kay's long time and faithful friends Donna and Bill Singletary and Paul and Linda West who have been by Mickey's side through this long battle that Kay fought. They are very appreciative of Kay's doctors and nurses of the ICU Department at Baptist Hospital.
Kay will always be remembered for her strength and love of life along with her soft spoken spirit and gentleness. She will forever be missed.
