Doris Dodd Bowman

Mrs. Bowman was born on March 3, 1942 in Doddsville, MS and died on September 28, 2022 in Brunswick, GA. She grew up in Greenville, MS, where she attended school. She married the love of her life, William L. Dodd in 1959, and they lived happily together until his passing in 2002.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dodd, her father, Ernest W. Stewart, her mother, Climmie Ree Stone, and her second husband, Ray Bowman.

She lived many years in Leland, MS, Brandon, MS, Jackson, MS, and Pass Christian, MS before moving to Brunswick, GA in 2018.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Dodd, son William Dodd, Jr.(Cherrie), daughter Kimberly Medders (Paul), stepsons Charles Bowman (Mary), Douglas Bowman (Kitty), stepdaughter Lynette Gregg (Mike), sisters Barbra Azevedo, Vonnie Fischer (Charles), Donna Hester, brothers Ernest Stewart (Cynthia), John Stewart, James Stewart (Teresa), William Stewart, David Stewart (Joy), grandsons Jeffrey Dodd, Fisher Medders, William Medders, Charles Medders, Jonathan Bowman, Peyton Gregg, and Chad Bowman, granddaughters Jessica Dodd, Hannah Gregg, Kaitlyn Gregg, and Kristin Bowman, and 3 great granddaughters Brooklyn, Bayley, and Emery.

Mrs. Bowman was an accomplished poet and artist. She was an avid gardener, bowler, golfer, fisherwoman, and poker player. She was a lover of life, a fighter until the end, and is loved by so, so many for her kind heart and her beautiful soul.

Her funeral will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS on October 6, 2022. Visitation is at 10:00 with a service to follow at 11:00.
