He was the son of the late William G. and Mabel Johnson Ellis and is survived by his brother, William G. Ellis, Jr. (Beverly) of Chesterfield, VA.; an aunt, Joyce Nelson of MD.; 2 nephews, William G “Tre” Ellis III (Shannon) of Chester and Michael Justin Ellis of Powhatan, VA.; 4 nephews and numerous cousins.
Craig graduated from Highland Springs High School in 1972, and worked at the Richmond Airport in the Maintenance Department and was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church. He was very active in AA for many years and he was a lover of all animals.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, April 25 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond VA. 23231, where a memorial service will be held 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 26. Burial will follow at Washington Memorial Park. A reception will be held after the burial at New Bridge Baptist Church, 5701 Elko Road, Sandston, VA. 23150.
