Bob went to the University of Maryland for his undergraduate degree, and obtained his graduate degree from Hofstra University. He met his wife Chris at a company they both hated, married in 1987, lived on Long Island, and they had a wonderful life together. They raised two fabulous boys, Jeff and Jason, and when Bob took a job at Altria, they landed in VA 20 years ago.
Bob was a life-long Terp basketball and Islander fan, and liked to golf. He was able to retire early and spent his time as a volunteer at IT for Causes, taking classes at OSHER Life Long Learning, playing with their dog Bailey, and enjoying life at Lake Gaston. Bob loved spending time with his family best of all, which now includes daughters-in-law Casey and Zoe, and precious grandson Lucas.
He was the best husband, dad, and grandpa, and his family loved spending time with him. Bob believed a little adversity taught one to cope with life’s challenges; everyone will work hard to prove him right.
The family invites friends to a Celebration of Bob on Saturday, November 11 from 1-3pm at Woody’s Funeral Home on Parham Road. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to the PKD Foundation.
