Lois Vivian DuRant

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Lois Vivian (Perry) DuRant, who left us on December 3, 2024 after a valiant and courageous battle with illness. Hers was a life beautifully lived. Fiercely independent, yet always full of laughter, love and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She adored her family and friends, her dogs, Spike and Mikey and her passion and love for her work family at Aussie Pet Mobile was unwavering. She always spoke gratefully, graciously and thankfully about her incredible home healthcare team.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ronald and Maudie Perry, her beloved husband, Preston DuRant, and her brother, Ronnie Perry. She is survived by loved ones including her three sons, Preston “Tripp” DuRant, David DuRant, Edward “Eddie” DuRant, two daughters-in-law, Traci Miller and Mary Ann DuRant, two granddaughters, Haley DuRant Jones and Grace DuRant, two grandsons-in-law, Stuart Jones and Andrew Laidler, two step-granddaughters, Alexis Miller, Alyssa Haberdash and her husband, John Haberdash, three great-grandchildren, Blayke, Elliot and John, two sisters, Barbara Trebbe and Phyllis Lewis, several nieces and nephews, and many special family members, coworkers and friends who felt her warmth and generosity.

Visitation will take place at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, where the family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 4 to 8 p.m. To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 10 a.m. at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Drive, Richmond, VA 23229 on Friday, December 13, 2024 followed by internment at noon next to her beloved husband, Preston, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
