John Currie Thompson, III
THOMPSON, John Currie III "Jack", passed away in his sleep on March 6, 2010. He was born October 10, 1924 in Madison, N.C. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Emma Barnes Thompson "Emmy". He was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W.II. He attended the Citadel and later graduated from North Carolina State with an engineering degree. He was an employee and served as president of Froehling and Robertson's in Richmond for over 50 years. He enjoyed the beach, fishing, playing pool, golf and his wonderful family and many friends.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Ginger Martin and her husband, Jimmy, Betty Arrighi and her husband, Mike Brona Holcomb and her husband, Rob, and Mary Copeland and her husband, Randy; also grandchildren, Cliff and Bryan Martin, Samantha Arrighi, Anna Holcomb, Mitchell, Katie and Lindsey Copeland. He will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. and where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. condolences may be made woodyfuneralhomeparham.com
