John Richard Anderson Sr.

ANDERSON, John R. Sr., 90, of Yorktown, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was an employee of Sears for 30 years. He enjoyed making wood crafts and worked at Ukrop's during his retirement. Mr. Anderson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Yorktown. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Jean Eudailey; and son, John R. Anderson Jr. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia L. McCrickard (Don); grandchildren, Heather J. Bosnyak (Chris) and Christopher J. Anderson (Nicholle); great-grandchildren, Cassie and Blake; former son-in-law, Bernard "Butch" Eudailey and his mother, Frances Clark; and former daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Anderson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, at 11 a.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., with a service following at noon. Interment will be held at Washington Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church at 1004 Yorktown Rd., Yorktown, Va. 23693.
