Jane was born in Brooklyn, NY, but she spent most of her life in the South. She studied at the University of Georgia, where she met her husband and lifelong partner, Ray Wingrove. The two moved to Richmond, VA, where she lived, practiced real estate, raised a family and made a family of friends for the next 55+ years.
Jane is survived by her son, Ben Wingrove of Kure Beach, NC and her adoring grandsons, Ben, Johnny Ray, Bo, and Key. Jane had many loved ones, friends, great neighbors and close relatives, including her nieces, Kimberly Allen and Sherri Ousey.
Jane loved sunshine, a good beach, a good book, traveling the world and enjoying all the people, places and meals she met along the way.
To honor Jane, we are holding a celebration of life, Thursday, April 27th from 11 am - 1 pm at the Richmond Country Club, (12950 Patterson Avenue) in Richmond, Virginia. We invite anyone who loved Jane to attend and remember her wonderful, cheery presence. Attendees are encouraged to wear light and bright colors.
Jane cared deeply about a scholarship she and Ray established at Bluefield College. Instead of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the C. Ray and Jane Wingrove Endowed Scholarship. www.bluefield.edu/giving/
