James Allen Taylor Jr.

James Allen Taylor, Jr., 87, of Sandston, died Sunday, January 15, 2023. Born in LaCrosse, VA., he was the son of the late James Allen Taylor, Sr. and Odelle Moseley Taylor. He was retired from Mountainside Transportation. He was a member of Fairmount Christian Church, a member of South Hill Masonic Lodge 297, A.F. & A.M., a member of Babcockck Masonic Lodge 322, A.F. & A.M. and a Past Master of Babcock Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth McKinney Taylor; daughter, Mary Lou DeHart (Duane); son, Howell Taylor (Ann); grandchildren Taylor DeHart (Kayla), Claire Kavalok (Brandon), Calle Taylor and James D. Taylor. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy T. Cole. The family will receive friends 8:30 to service time at 9:30 am, Friday, January 20 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairmount Christian Church Building Fund, 6502 Creighton Rd, Mechanicsville, VA. 23111 or to New Bridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 5701 Elko Rd, Sandston, VA. 23150.
