James Elwood Alexander Sr

James Elwood Alexander, 103, of Richmond passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Alice T. Alexander; son, Shirley L. Alexander. He is survived by his son, James Elwood Alexander, Jr. (Martha); granddaughter, Amy Alexander (Wayne); great-grandson, James Alexander Hogge; nieces, Gurleen Ferguson, Margaret Anderson and Martha Ann Nielson. Mr. Alexander was a Charter Member of Glendale Ruritan Club and a life time member of Willis United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Willis United Methodist Church, 8360 Willis Church Road, Richmond, Va. 23231.
