Marshall, Irvin (Pem) Pemberton, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully after a short illness, Tuesday, August 27, 2013. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on April 29, 1924. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin P. and Madeline Peay Marshall and two brothers, William and Wallace Marshall. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elisabeth Marshall. He is also survived by his brother, Clyde Marshall (Marie). He was a devoted step-father to Jimmy Bartoo (Kaye) of Richmond VA and Lynda B. Kennemer (Wesley) of Boyd, Texas. Additionally, he is survived by grandchildren Monica B. Kaulfers (David) of Goochland VA, Tricia B. Mozingo (Mark) of Chesterfield VA, Darrell Kennemer (Jenise) and Douglas Kennemer of Boyd TX, and Carla K. Sherman (Scott) of Sunset TX. He is also survived by seven great-grand children and two great, great-grandchildren. He had many devoted nieces and nephews in Virginia. He served his country well in WW II rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was a highly decorated combat infantry soldier. He received the Bronze Star, Unit Distinguished Service Medal, the Croix de Guerre, and the Good Conduct Medal with Clasp (of course). After the war, he spent his next fifty-two years as a brick mason. There will be a gathering of relatives and friends at the residence to celebrate his life on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
