Hong Tuyet Cao

Cao, Hong Tuyet, 75, of Richmond, Va., passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023, after battling over ten years of multiple myeloma followed by congestive heart failure and leukemia. Hong was preceded in death by her parents, David Mohammad and Khanh Cao; her husband, Tinh Ly. She is survived by son, Thanh Cao (daughter-in-law, Xinh; grandchildren, Manuelle & Michel); daughter, Julie Huynh (son-in-law, Minh; grandchildren, Andy & Sean); daughter, Sandy Dang (son-in-law, Paul; grandchildren, Peter & Alexis); daughter, Mai Cao (son-in-law, Alex Luu; grandchild, Victor); daughter, Dung Wong (son-in-law, Martin; grandchild, Zoe); daughter, Amina Choi (son-in-law, Bobby; grandchildren, Joey & Kody). She is survived by sister, Hanh Isabel Diaz; sister, Amina Bailey; brother, Liem Le; brother, Son Le. She is also survived by a bountiful number of extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews) from Richmond, Ohio, Boston, Canada, France, Korea and Vietnam. Hong was a hard working lady, who survived the Vietnam war and raised a loving family in the U.S. with her predeceased husband. Her beautiful smile brightened a room, and she was always sincere, generous, kind, and sweet to name a few. Hong enjoyed singing, dancing and playing bingo with her children and grandchildren. Family gathering was everything to her. A Buddhist Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, from 4pm to 5pm followed by visitations from 5pm to 8pm. A private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday for family only. Hong’s family thank friends and extended family for all of your support, prayers and kind words. They also want to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Oncology, VCU Massey Center, Bayada Hospice and Advance Home Care for their assistance throughout her health journey.
