Haeja, who was born in Taegu, South Korea, immigrated to the United States in 1971. She made her way to Virginia, making it her permanent home starting with the Spring Grove community of Surry County. While there, she met and married her beloved husband of 49 years. Together, they had two children and opened Max Video & Home Movies in the Richmond area, followed by a series of other business and real estate ventures.
She is survived by her husband, Won; children, Melodie and Yuri; and grandsons, Chad and Noah.
A funeral service for Haeja will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. Burial immediately after will be private.
Family, friends and other guests are invited to a gathering beginning at 11 a.m. at Yuri’s home, 12303 Pleasant Lake Place, Henrico, Virginia 23233.
