DAVID RAY LEWIS It is with great sadness Barbara announces the passing of her husband and best friend, David Ray Lewis, on September 3, 2022. He left this world as he wished; to be at home with Barbara by his side. Surviving are his wife and love of his life, Barbara E. Denton; children Ashley Lewis Alpert (Dave); Walter (Bubba) Brooks, Jr. (Angie) and children, Bubba and Taylor Brooks, Joey and Billy Miller; Jenny Brooks Rollins and daughter, Brittney Rollins. Dave is also survived by his loving sister, Gayle Lewis Harding (Bobby) and many loving nieces and nephews. He leaves behind so many wonderful friends. Dave graduated from Highland Spring High School in 1969 and then joined the U. S. Navy. He retired from Bass Crane Services to enjoy his time traveling, going to beaches, fishing and being with friends and family. Dave loved his family, friends, fishing, boating, and animals. His four-legged best girl, Sheila B, will greet him in Heaven. Dave was predeceased by his parents, C. Robert and Adeline Lewis; brother and sister in law, Donald and Mary Lou Fowlkes; brother, James Herbert Lewis and brother in law and good friend, Bill Denton. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7th, at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Celebration of Dave's life will be at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8 at 11:00.
