Linda Sue Harvey

On Saturday, December 2, 2023, Linda Sue Harvey, went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded by her parents, Richard Louise Fowler and Susie Mae Kincade Fowler.

Linda was born on August 30, 1948. She graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Larkspur, California in 1967. While in high school Linda met and later married LaPiere Harvey in October 1966 in San Rafael, California. Together their union brought 3 children. She then went on to attend San Jose State University, in San Jose, California where she earned her AA degree in Early Childhood Education.

During the start of her career Linda worked in education. She first began working at the Head Start Program in Marin City, California. Thereafter, she began working at Step II, in Marin City, California. Later, she worked at Redwood High School in Larkspur, California as a Behavioral Counselor until she retired. During her time at Redwood High School Linda also participated in working at the high schools’ special events. Such as football, basketball games and chaperoned at school dances. After retirement she worked with her partner John assisting him with running his business at Exterior Surface Cleaning.

Linda loved spending time with her family. Every year, in December she hosted Christmas Eve at her house. When that time of year came, everyone knew to show up, bring a dish and enjoy being together. Her niece Danaka affectionately called her Potsy. This was a name Danaka created when she was a toddler. To this day, she is known by this name in which her great nephews Dominic and Diesel also refer to her as auntie Potsy. Whether it was the holidays or a family event, spending time with her family is something Linda enjoyed.

Furthermore, Linda became part of the Iron Souls family. The Iron Souls is a motorcycle club that became known to her while dating her partner, John. Over time, the wives and girlfriends have become close and spent time together traveling, picnics, annual Christmas party or relaxing poolside enjoying each other’s company.

Linda devoted her life and services to the Lord when she became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, in Richmond, California. Each Sunday she looked forward to hearing the word of God spoken by her pastor Dr. Kevin B. Hall. A short time later, Linda joined the Voices of St. John Choir.

When her mother passed away in 1991, her sister Gwen came up with the idea of hosting dinner at each of the siblings’ homes rotating every three months. This is an event that continues to this day. The Fowlers will always carry on this tradition.

Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory, her three children Rodney Harvey, of San Rafael, California, Trina Harvey, of Antioch, California and Corey Harvey, (Ronda Marfil) of Vacaville, California and long-time partner John Williams, of Sacramento, California her sisters Gwendolyn Fuller of Antioch, California, Jacqueline Dedrick (Carl Dedrick) of Marin City, California, Michael Fowler, (Debra Koontz Fowler) of San Rafael, California, and Janet Fowler, of Sacramento, California, and her 2 grandchildren whom she loved dearly Gavin Myles and Donovan Myles. Linda’s grandchildren were the light of her life. The sheer mention of her grandchildren brought her so much joy. When she talks about her grandsons you might as well sit down, relax and she gone tell you all about them, how old they are, where they’re at, and what they are doing. During her time working at Redwood High School her office was plastered with photos of her grandsons. It was as if you were in a museum solely dedicated to her grandchildren. Linda also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and friends.
