Ms. Kimberly Rene Taylor was born on November 2, 1964 to Elijah Taylor and Tecora McCoy in Oakland, CA. Upon their separation, Tecora would later wed Howard Gibbs, who played the role of a father figure in her children's life.
As a child, Kimberly was very spirited, bright, inquisitive, witty, genuine, curious, loving, and fearless amongst other fascinating traits. Those same characteristics carried over with her into adulthood. She would exercise them and share her love but, was not afraid to stand-up for herself and those she loved especially, her six children.
Kimberly attended Burbank Elementary School in Oakland, CA. She also attended King Estates Middle School before transferring to Westlake Middle School. She was promoted to Castlemont High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Terry Pringle, Sr. They later became proud parents of their first child, Terry Pringle, Jr. Life shifted, and they eventually parted their ways but, remained friends.
After becoming a mother, Kimberly felt as if that was her badge of honor, and was committed to ensuring that she would be the best mother that she could be. She later had another son by the name of Marshawn Mills with Hugo Mills., Jr. A few years after Hugo's unfortunate passing, Kimberly began a relationship with her last love, Derrick Palmore, Jr. They had four beautiful children, together: Derrick Palmore, Jr., La Niesha Niblett, Ayauna Palmore and Damoriee Palmore.
Although Kimberly endured many obstacles, in her life, with the Lord on her side and her faith at bay, she made ways around them. She continued to fight for herself and her children, no matter what life threw at them and was the type of mother who would do everything within her power, to ensure her children (no matter what age) were provided with the necessities needed to get through each day.
Kimberly was gifted with seven grandchildren by her eldest and late son, Terry, Jr.: Evan, Jocelyn, Aries, Maha, Tariq, Melani, and Giulianna. She had a ginormous heart for people, would greet everyone with a huge smile, and hug or handshake. She had this way of making people feel so comfortable in her presence and could talk to you, as if she had known you for her whole life.
Kimberly, particularly, had an amazing gift with children, especially children with special needs. She believed her calling was to help advocate for those parents and children who couldn't or didn't know, how to fight for themselves.
After being an advocate for her own children's education, and winning their cases, time and time again, Kimberly decided to share her knowledge and assist those that did not know the laws, for no cost, at all. As parents started reaching out, she began to help them with no hesitation. She would appear with them in court or school meeting's at the request of the parents.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Elijah McCoy, her beloved son, Terry Pringle, Jr., and grandparents, Murphy, Sr. and Josephine McCoy.
Left to cherish Kimberly's memory are her mother, Tecora McCoy, younger brother Michael Taylor, and younger sister, Nikita Gibbs-Nolen. Her five children, seven children; an aunt, Murry Miles; an uncle, Ray, and a host of cousins, especially Doni Mouton, and other family and friends that loved her.
