The visitation will be from 7 to 9 PM at First Christian Church, Richlands. The funeral will be at 10 AM on Friday at First Christian Church, Richlands, followed by the burial at the family gravesite.
Norwood was born near Pinhook, Duplin County, on December 20, 1922. He was the fifth child born to Edward Wellington Wilson and Martha Caroline Dail.
In 1941, he graduated from Richlands High School and married his sweetheart Etta Mae Baysden. She passed away in 2002. Norwood went on to serve honorably in the Army of WWII. Back at home, he farmed until he went back to Camp Lejeune to work in the maintenance department and retired in 1985.
He was a long time and proud member of First Christian Church, Richlands. He was a charter member of the church's Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) and was a charter member of the Richlands Ruritan Club.
Norwood is proceeded in death by his brothers Albro Wilson, Elwood Wilson, Lenwood Wilson, and his sister, Elma Wilson, and granddaughter Jewel Oakes. Norwood is survived by his sister, Alma Huffman and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his and Etta Mae's five Children; Bonnie, married to Ted Stamey, Jackie Wilkins, Dianne Causey, Peggie, married to Bennie Clark, and son, Kevin Wilson, married to Debbie. He has 11 grandchildren; Kristina Betz, Russell Stamey, Cindy (Mark) Lunceford, Todd (Sheryl) Woodard, Chris Woodard, Alicia (John) Turner, John (Ginger) Causey, Woody Wilson, Lauren Wilson, and Kylie Wilson. He is also survived by his 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Building Fund for First Christian Church, Richlands, (124 Trott Rd Richlands NC, 28574 ).
