He graduated from St Johns Seminary in 1967 and was commissioned in the Air Force in 1968 as a Military Intelligence Officer. He served twenty-six years in the military with assignments in Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, and Texas. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. His most honored memories were his working with and supporting Air Force commandos during the Vietnam War. After his retirement, he went to work for EDS where he worked for over 20 years. He obtained his master’s degree from St Edwards University in 1979. He met the love of his life, Eva, in Plano through the walking club. They married in 1994 and enjoyed thirty years together.
He will be remembered for his love of family and country. Robert was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Air Commando Association, Mensa, The Association of Former Intelligence Officers, and the Military Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Clark, of Plano, TX; his sister Ellen Donato and her husband Frank, Niece Tina Donato; sister in law Patricia Savage and her husband, Shaun Beasley; nieces Laura Horton, and Amanda Swart, and nephews, Brandon West and Jonathan West.
As were his wishes, inurnment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery following cremation.
