She attended Kilgore High School, graduating at the age of 16 at the top of her class, and completed a business course at Kilgore Junior College. She became a legal secretary and moved to Dallas to pursue her career, at which she excelled.
Janice had a deep love for her two daughters, Marla Sutton of Dallas and Jill Nicole of Columbus, Ohio, and later in life found great joy in her many dogs. She was the grandmother to Riley, Jett, Otis, and Grady.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Joyce Rabalais Halback, Gordon Rabalais, and Dale Rabalais, and survived by her sister, Judith Rabalais Scola, who shares this memory of her sister, “Janice had her first job at 17, and she became an excellent legal secretary. Encouraged by Janice, she and I moved to Dallas for opportunity, and we enjoyed being roommates. She was always very kind and eager to help other people, and she loved animals. She loved her daughters deeply and was so proud of them.”
