Irene Cantu Cantu Ozturk

Irene Cantu Ozturk of Richardson, TX died in her home on July 25, 2013. Irene was born to Senon Cantu and Aurora Hernandez in Corpus Christi, TX on January 7, 1955. She grew up with her seven siblings Ada Cruz, Corina Curiel, Linda Northrup, Joe Cantu, Rick Cantu, Mary Cantu, and Lupe Cantu. Irene married Yucel Ozturk in Bryan, TX in 1985 and had two children. She was survived by her son, Emre Senon Ozturk, daughter-in-law Mayra Leticia Ozturk, her grandson Liam Emre Ozturk, daughter Ayla Aurora Ozturk Burnside, and son-in-law, Shawn Christopher Burnside.

Irene was a Believer in the Gospel, and a follower of Christ, she was often described as the light in a dark room while always looking for the beauty in the world around her. She was known as someone who was always willing to help those in need. When Irene was not at work, attending a bible study or church service, she could be found in her garden tending to her flowers. Irene has held various positions in her professional career; however the position she was proudest of was one where she was able to consult those in need of employment, while helping them progress their careers.

Numbers 6:24-26 "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, at Trinity Episcopal Church at 2pm. Rev. Dr. Robin Rose will officiate. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 30, at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Directors from 6 until 8pm. Interment will follow the service at Restland Memorial Park.
