He attended college at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He also was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Henry was a distinguished military graduate and served as Cadet Colonel of the Air Force ROTC Unit. Henry served in the United States Air Force as a Pilot and Supply Officer for four years. In 1953, he was in Korea for 14 months. His business management career included Johns-Manville Corporation, Dow Chemical, U.S. Gysum, and Kohler Company. He moved to Dallas in 1957, where he met and married his wife of 44 years, Joyce Gannaway Thomas, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. They were longtime active members of Northwest Bible Church, where Henry served as Deacon.
Those who preceded him in death are his wife, Joyce Gannaway Thomas (2002), and brother, Al Thomas (2019).
Henry is survived by his son, Glenn Thomas of Garland, TX, and Beverly Johnson of Dallas, TX, and her loving family.
Services will take place on January 10th, 2023 at 1:00 PM. The service will take place at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 South Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081. Henry’s final resting place will conclude after the funeral services at Restland Memorial Park in the Chapel Garden Mausoleum.
